Краткий осмотр (реферат): У дисертації здійснене комплексне дослідження комунікативного потенціалу сталих словосполук фразеологічного характеру у пресі діаспори США і Канади визначеного періоду, узагальнений досвід вивчення фразеології, розглянуто виникнення української діаспорної преси США і Канади, проаналізовані передумови і загальні аспекти зародження та становлення еміграційних процесів, окреслені умови функціонування ССФХ у мові преси в іноетнічному середовищі. З’ясовані комбінаторні властивості найуживаніших лексем у складі сталих словосполук фразео-логічного характеру, проаналізовані їх синонімічні, антонімічні та омонімічні властивості, визначені тематичні групи ССФХ у мові преси діаспори, висвітлена роль преси діаспори у збереженні етнонаціональних ознак та консолідації світової української спільноти. In the thesis the complex examination of the communicative potential of stable word-combinations of phraseological character is carried out in the USA and Canada diaspora press of the given period, the phraseology studies experience is generalized, the Ukrainian diasporal press appearance and development of immigrational processes in Ukraine are analyzed, the conditions of stable word-combinations of phraseological character functioning in the language of press in the foreign ethnical environment is underlined. The studies of the most spread lexical units combinational peculiarities in the structure of stable expressions of phraseological character is carried out, their synonymical, antonymical and omonimical peculiarities are analysed, the topical groups of stable word-combinations of phraseological character in the diasporal press language is defined, the diasporal press role in the preservation of ethnonational peculiarities and consolidation of the world Ukrainian community is cleared up. Уперше в українському мовознавстві обґрунтовано принципи виділення мовних одиниць, які репрезентують відповідну семантику, запропоновано їх класифікаційний поділ на відповідні мікрогрупи. У роботі з’ясовано особливості парадигматичних і синтагматичних зв’язків та відношень у межах розгляданих лексико-семантичних полів; виявлено специфіку формування їх периферійних зон. Здійснено словотвірний аналіз прикметників та виокремлено валентнісні моделі реалізації прикметникової семантики «оцінка морально-етичних та інтелектуальних характеристик людини». The thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of adjectives with the meaning of moral ethical and intellectual characteristics of a human being as separate fragment of linguistic picture of the world. For the first time in the Ukrainian linguistics the principles of separation of language units representing appropriate semantics is justified and their classification division into corresponding micro groups is suggested. The thesis defines the features of paradigmatic and syntagmatic connections and relations within the lexical semantic fields; it also defines the peculiarities of their peripheral zones forming. The derivational analysis of adjectives is done as well as valency models of "moral ethical and intellectual characteristics of a human being" adjectives semantics implementation is singled out. Краткий осмотр (реферат): Дисертацію присвячено виявленню, аналізу і узагальненню провідних характеристик і функцій екзотизмів як виду гетерогенної лексики в англомовних медіатекстах на тлі сучасних процесів міжкультурної комунікації. Дослідження екзотизмів як маркерів міжкультурної комунікації у руслі комплексного структурнофункціонального підходу дозволило проаналізувати структурно-типологічні характеристики корпусу екзотичної лексики, дослідити їх текстові функції, зумовлені жанрово-прагматичними характеристиками текстів, в яких екзотизми використовуються, та виявити соціальні функції, які екзоодиниці виконують при переосмисленні їхньої ролі в контексті міжкультурної комунікації за посередництвом медійних текстів. Екзотизми у медіатекстах привчають до перебування іншомовних слів в англійській мові та лібералізують її норми, сприяють толерантності щодо культурних експансій та дещо пом’якшують відмінності між англо-американським та іншими етносоціумами. Exotic borrowings are the words from relatively unknown as well as known IndoEuropean languages, which are associated with a foreign culture and are used to describe the peculiarities of clothes, manners and customs of other nations. The most characteristic features of exotic borrowings are the absence of equivalents, nominative character of meaning, relative morphological homogeneity, localization at the linguistic periphery, inability to vary, weak syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations, incomplete assimilation, and distinct national and cultural coloring. Exotic borrowings can be common (fixed in the dictionaries and included into the lexical system of the recipient language) and occasional (located outside the vocabulary of the language). They are a quite unstable, although dynamic and constantly replenishable group of heterogeneous vocabulary. English media texts provide a favorable environment for exotic borrowings, in which they can explicitly implement their functions. The most frequent exotic borrowings are of French, Japanese, Spanish and Italian origin. The least used are borrowings from transliterated Chinese, Bulgarian and Portuguese languages. Most exotic borrowings belong to the Indo-European language family and to the Romance language group. Among exotic lexical items, the most common are one-word ones, the second and third places being occupied by two- and three-word borrowings. Syntactic relationships of exotic borrowings are marked by dominance of the attributive type, whereas the copulative one is the least frequent. Exotic borrowings are often nouns or noun constructions, less frequently – adjectives. Media texts are discrete units of the media discourse that record events within the dynamic sociocultural space and at the same time fill them with additional information and cultural meanings. Newspapers are the oldest and the most accessible media, which cover versatile issues and provide a sufficient amount of information. The feature genre of English newspapers expresses the subjective vision of the problems of modern society. The textual functions of exotiс borrowings in the feature texts determined by their genre characteristics include the functions of introducing new concepts, of reaching semantic accuracy, of creating the effect of authenticity, of producing the coloring effect as well as aesthetic, expressive and axiological functions. In the feature texts, exotic lexical items also perform the following social functions in the context of globalization and intercultural communication: the function of cultural transfer, the cognitive, ideological and that of ethnic stereotyping functions. All functions are interrelated, they intersect and interact under the influence of various factors – from communicative and textual to sociocultural and social in general. The English travel guide is a printed or online informational edition about the locations for tourists and visitors. The leading textual function of exotic borrowings in the travel guide is an attractive one. It aims at producing the explicit impact on readers in order to interest them in the described location and encourage to visit it. The attractive function is based on the synergy of informational, aesthetic, expressive, coloring, cognitive, axiological and advertising functions. The exotic lexemes perform the axiological function only of positive evaluation due to the pragmatic focus of the travel guide on the formation of the attractive image of the country. In travel guides, exotic borrowings perform a number of social functions in the context of globalization, namely, the function of enculturation, educational and ideological functions. The last of the abovementioned functions is realized only with a positive connotation. Against the background of the processes of intercultural communication, exotic borrowings in the texts of travel guides also perform the function of positive ethnic stereotyping, thus promoting positive stereotypes of countries, cultures and people. Exotic borrowings can therefore be treated as markers and agents of intercultural communication. In English media texts, they customize foreign words, liberalize language norms, promote the tolerance towards cultural expansion and slightly mitigate the differences between global Anglo-American and other societies. ХХ ст., простежена роль літературних видань у розвитку культурного життя та національної літератури. Аналізується процес становлення і розвитку літературної періодики в Галичині, на Закарпатті й Буковині, з’ясовується роль літературної періодики у функціонуванні українського національного організму, показано вплив літературної періодики на розвиток національного і зокрема літературного життя. Розглянуто специфіку літературної періодики, ідейні й естетичні засади її функціонування. The complex investigation of the Western Ukrainian literary press in the 20th –30th of the 20th century is carried out in the thesis. The work contains the description of the role of Western Ukrainian literaryperiodicals in the development of national journalism and literature, in social - political and spiritual context of the epoch. The Western Ukrainian literary press of the 20th –30th is a unique phenomenon in the history of the Ukrainian journalism. National and patriotic periodicals and literary magazines in particular were only a few exposures of Ukrainian public and cultural life under conditions of occupation regimes in Galychyna, Transcarpathia and Bukovyna under distressing hard circumstances of social and cultural life of Ukrainians. In Transcarpathia and Bukovyna the press filled up all spheres of social and spiritual life of Ukrainians. In spite of oppression and persecution from the side of occupation regimes, national journalism realized with dignity its designation fighting national interests of Ukrainians. Constant development of literary periodicals took place during intewar period of the 20th : literary press grew in quantity and quality. Lofty and artistic level of literary periodicals was very high. Periodicals’ lofty and esthetic concepts and also principal activity trends of literary societies and magazines are determined in the thesis. The main problems and subject aspects of the text publications are studied and analyzed the priority of genres is determinated. Generalized experience and the results of the thesis may be useful the training courses on history of national journalism and also may be helpful for the subject broadening of scientists’ investigations.
