Структурно-семантичні особливості вербалізації концептів далекої і крайньої периферії головного концепту Airport в романі А. Хейлі «Аеропорт»

Abstract

Стаття присвячена дослідженню структурно-семантичних особливостей вербалізації концептів TERMINAL, PASSENGER AIRCRAFT, FREIGHT AIRCRAFT , PASSENGER PODS головного концепту AIRPORT в романі А. Хейлі «Аеропорт». Концепт AIRPORT розглядається як складне ментальне утворення у єдності його понятійного, ціннісного та образного компонентів. Про визначальну роль концепту AIRPORT у структурі твору свідчить і винесення лексеми «airport» у назву роману. Образ аеропорту є конкретизованим. Ім’я концепту AIRPORT представлено не лише однойменною лексемою, але й розширене за рахунок введення власної назви міжнародного аеропорту. Образна інтерпретація концепту AIRPORT у романі допомагає авторові відтворити складний світ життя аеропорту не лише за рахунок введення у номінативне поле концепту фахової і термінологічної лексики, але й залучивши стилістично забарвлений вербальний образ-порівняння. Положення щодо польової структури організації змісту концепту AIRPORT у романі А. Хейлі отримало ґрунтовне підтвердження. Цей концепт формує концептуальний простір роману, що є фрагментом концептуальної картини світу, яка відображає особливості фахової діяльності в сфері авіаперевезень, а, відтак, концептуальний простір роману є відображенням картини фахового світу. Далека периферія представлена в романі похідними концептами третього рівня TERMINAL, PASSENGER AIRCRAFT, FREIGHT AIRCRAFT, а крайня периферія або зона суміжних концептів концептом PASSENGER PODS. Запропоновано аналіз змісту структури концептів та когнітивну модель їх представлення у відповідному художньо-літературному творі. Мовна база актуалізації концепту TERMINAL/ТЕРМІНАЛ у тексті роману відображає основні характеристики терміналу як матеріально-технічного об’єкту аеропорту, коло послуг, що надаються, та особливості функціонування. Концепт PASSENGER PODS поєднує обидві модульні системи для пасажирських перевезень, оскільки вони є концептуально подібними. The article deals with the research of the structural-semantic features of verbalization of the concepts of the distant and extreme periphery of the main concept of AIRPORT in the novel ‘AIRPORT’ by A. Hailey. The AIRPORT concept is seen as a complex mental formation in the unity of its conceptual, value and figurative components. The decisive role of the AIRPORT concept in the structure of the novel is evidenced by the presentation of ‘airport’ lexeme in the novel's title. The image of the airport is specific. The name of the AIRPORT concept is presented not only by the same lexeme but also expanded by the introduction of its own name for the international airport. The imaginative interpretation of the AIRPORT concept in the novel helps the author recreate the complex world of airport life not only by introducing the concept of professional and terminological vocabulary into the nominative field, but also by drawing on a stylistically colored verbal image-comparison. The provisions regarding the field structure of the content organization of the AIRPORT concept in A. Haley's novel have been basically substantiated. This concept forms the conceptual space of the novel, which is a fragment of the conceptual picture of the world, that reflects the peculiarities of professional activity in the field of air transportation, and, consequently, the conceptual space of the novel is a reflection of the picture of the professional world. The model of the content’s structure of the concept AIRPORT includes distant periphery, which unites the derivative concepts of the third level: TERMINAL, PASSENGER AIRCRAFT, FREIGHT AIRCRAFT, and extreme periphery or the zone of adjacent concept: PASSENGER PODS. The analysis of the content of the structure of concepts and the cognitive model of their representation in the corresponding literary work are offered. The language base for updating the TERMINAL concept in the text of the novel reflects the main characteristics of the terminal as a logistical object of the airport, the range of services provided, and features of operation. The PASSENGER PODS concept combines both modular passenger transportation systems as they are conceptually similar.
