Можливості застосування біометричного методу ідентифікації за геометрією обличчя в системі правоохоронних органів

Abstract

Розглянуто сучасні тенденції використання біометричних технологій, зокрема методик ідентифікації особи за відбитками пальців, геометрією обличчя та райдужною оболонкою ока. Здійснено порівняння цих методик на основі FAR та FRR, згідно з яким найбільш надійним визнано розпізнавання за райдужною оболонкою ока. Визначено, що на значній відстані можлива ідентифікація лише за геометрією обличчя. Розглянуто міжнародний досвід використання такої ідентифікації в системах відеоспостереження, надано пропозиції щодо її використання в правоохоронних органах України. The article deals with the modern trend of using biometric technology, including methods of identification by fingerprints, according to the geometry of the face and by the iris of the eye. The comparison between these techniques based on FAR and FRR, according to which the authentication method by the iris of the eye recognized most reliable. It was determined that only method of identification by the geometry of face suitable for facial recognition in video surveillance systems, as it is the only method that allows for identification at a considerable distance. We consider the international experience of such identification in video surveillance systems, including the Great Britain, the USA, Israel, Japan, and Russia. The requirements listed for quality camcorder that provides sufficient accuracy of identification. Commercial versions ofidentification systems by geometry of the face considered. The use of video surveillance systems in activity of law enforcement bodies of the Ukraine is growing, both in order to protect public order and control systems and access control. Summarized that the biometric identification method by the geometry of the face advisable to should be used to increase the efficiency of these systems, because enough offers of software already has for such systems at the biometric market. Indicated that the level of programmers training is sufficient for development of software for identification systems by geometry of the face in research institutions in Ukraine and the state order it is necessary to such development. It was determined that such intelligent video surveillance system will allow both to improve the level of crime prevention and detection, and identify individuals who are wanted. It is concluded that the use of video surveillance with the ability to face recognition will significantly improve the reliability of guarding of objects and information security, especially when combined with other biometric methods identifying individuals in systems of access control.
