Велич і падіння Карпатської України: історико-правовий аспект

Abstract

Досліджено історичні події п’ятимісячного існування Української держави й історичні постаті та їхню активну участь у національно-визвольному русі в Закарпатті у перші місяці угорської окупації. Розглянуто трагічні події березня 1939 р., коли в ніч з 13 на 14 березня за прямою вказівкою А. Гітлера війська угорських фашистів вторглися на терени молодої української держави і зайняли всю територію краю. Молода українська держава, фактично так і не розпочавши свою діяльність, припинила існування. Розкрито тріумф і трагедію закарпатських українців, які в героїчній боротьбі втратили свою державність і потрапили в ярмо угорського фашизму. The historical events of the 5-month existence of the Ukrainian state, as well as historical personalities and their active participation in the national liberation movement in Transcarpathia are investigated. The tragic events of March 13–14, 1939 are considered, when Hitler gave direct instructions to the troops of the Hungarian fascists to invade the territory of the young Ukrainian state and they occupied the entire territory of the region. The young Ukrainian state ceased to exist, actually not starting its activity. The triumph and tragedy of Transcarpathian Ukrainians, who lost their statehood in a heroic struggle and fell under the yoke of Hungarian fascism, are revealed. Hungarian, Polish, Soviet propaganda muddled, falsifed, deliberately suppressed their struggle. Hiding the truth about their atrocities, the Hungarian and the Soviet occupying power did everything possible to convince the world that there was no struggle. The ideals of Carpatho-Ukraine were deliberately trampled and desecrated. Based on historical truth and facts that have a diametrically opposite content, a personal opinion is formed that Transcarpathian Ukrainians paid a high price for their independence; many patriotic lives of Ukraine were laid on the altar in order to achieve the national idea of the Ukrainian state. In Transcarpathia, Ukrainian statehood lasted only fve months: from October 11, 1938 (as an autonomous formation within the Czechoslovakia) until March 18, 1939 as an independent Carpatho-Ukraine. Despite the short period of its activity, the repression of the Hungarian occupation power, it intensifed the national liberation processes not only in Transcarpathia, but also on those Ukrainian lands that were part of Poland, Romania and the USSR. 1) the main purpose; 2) to create a unitary, independent, sovereign Ukrainian state was.
