Соціальне мовчання в комунікативному аспекті

Abstract

У статті розглядається соціальне мовчання як комунікативно-соціальний феномен, який характеризується багатоаспектністю і багатомодальністю. Спілкування – це поєднання вербальних і невербальних елементів. Мовчання є невербальним компонентом комунікації і, як і мовлення, виконує різноманітні комунікативні й соціальні функції. Метою даної студії якраз і є привернення уваги до соціального мовчання як до складного соціолінгвістичного явища та вивчення комунікативної значущості соціального мовчання в українському етносоціокультурному контексті. Соціальне мовчання є потужним інструментом комунікації, вплив якого виходить за межі словесно-звукової комунікативної практики. Мовчання в соціальній комунікації не передбачає відсутності усного мовлення, соціальне мовчання – це замовчування певних аспектів чи проблем суспільного життя. Мовчання також є етносоціальним знаком, сформованим певним соціумом, і водночас виступає таким, що регулює чи встановлює суспільні відносини. Соціальне мовчання розуміється як соціолігвістичний маркер культурних та суспільно-політичних процесів. Мовчання як соціальний знак вказує на статус суб’єкта мовчання: соціальне мовчання пов’язується з відстороненістю осіб чи груп від прийняття рішень. З іншого боку, соціальне мовчання – інструмент влади для владної групи, яким вона створює чи регулює суспільно-культурний простір. Також висвітлені стратегії комунікативної поведінки домінантних та підлеглих груп в українському соціокультурному контексті, встановлено, що українці як поневолена група в колоніальному дискурсі реалізовувала свої інтенції в стратегіях «мовчання-як гніт» і «мовчання-як опір». Соціальне мовчання як показник розвитку громадянського суспільства стає водночас і етичною проблемою, бо пов’язане з проблемою вибору мовцем комунікативної стратегії. Social silence as a communicative and social phenomenon characterized by multifacetedness and multimodality is covered in the article. Communication is a combination of verbal and non-verbal elements. Silence is a non-verbal component of communication and, like speech, performs various communicative and social functions. The purpose of this study is precisely to draw attention to social silence as a complex sociolinguistic phenomenon and to study the communicative signifcance of social silence in the Ukrainian ethno-sociocultural context. Social silence is a powerful tool of communication, the influence of which goes beyond verbal and sound communicative practice. Silence in social communication does not imply the absence of oral speech, social silence is the silencing of some aspects or problems of social life. Silence is also an ethno-social sign formed by a certain society and at the same time one that regulates or establishes social relations. Social silence is understood as a sociolinguistic marker of cultural and socio-political processes. Silence as a social sign indicates the status of the subject of silence: social silence is associated with the exclusion of individuals or groups from decision-making. On the other hand, social silence is a power tool for the ruling group, which it uses to create or regulate the social and cultural space. The strategies of communicative behavior of dominant and subordinate groups in the Ukrainian socio-cultural context are also highlighted, it is established that the Ukrainian nation as an enslaved group in the colonial discourse realized its intentions in the strategies of "silence as oppression" and "silence as resistance". Social silence as an indicator of the development of civil society becomes an ethical problem at the same time, because it is related to the problem of the speaker's choice of communicative strategy.
