Сприйняття дітьми смерті: вікові та больові аспекти

Abstract

Проаналізовано динаміку розвитку екзистенції смерті у дітей, розглянуто теоретичні підходи до вивчення цього феномена. Окреслено особливості сприйняття поняття смерті у контексті болю та насамперед страху болю в онкохворих дітей. Зокрема показано розвиток, який проходить дитина у сприйнятті поняття смерті як універсального, незворотного і неминучого процесу, який пов’язаний із віком, когнітивними здібностями, емоційними та духовними переживаннями, особистим соціальним досвідом і рівнем спілкування з батьками, а також особливостями культури проживання. In this article we analyzed the development of the concept of death by children, examined the theoretical approaches to the study of this issue. The peculiarities of the perception of the concept of death in the context of pain perception, and, especially, the fear of pain in children with cancer are outlined. In particular, we show the children’s development in perception of the concept of death as universal, irreversible and inevitable process that is connected with age, cognitive ability, personal experience and level of communication with parents, and the features of the residence culture. In psychotherapeutic work with children who have the problem of experiencing death we face a lack of perception of death in the context of an adult. A child, as well as parents and the closest relatives meet the new mutual patterns. The fear about parents, his or her own needlessness in family, and feeling of burdening yourself may appear in child. Parents’ fear about their own death may internalize, and externalize as child’s own. Throughout many years together with the professor of Torun University Józef Binnebesel we conducted cross-cultural studies considering the approach and perception of death by children of different ages in different cultural settings.
