Термінологічна лексика як ефективний засіб відтворення фахового контексту в художньому творі

Abstract

У статті розглядаються комунікативно-дискурсивні та лінгвостилістичні особливості вживання термінологічної лексики як продуктивного засобу відтворення фахового контексту на сторінках професійного роману, дослідження проведено на матеріалі роману А. Хейлі ,,Аеропорт”. Отримані результати показали, що термінологічна лексика допомагає авторові відтворити специфіку інституціонального середовища міжнародного аеропорту, а термінологічні одиниці складають основу лексичної бази вербалізації фахового середовища. У стилістично маркованому контексті художнього твору нейтральна термінологічна лексика набуває стилістичного забарвлення, що сприяє глибшому розкриттю теми роману й емоційному впливові на читача. The article deals with the analysis of communicative, discursive, linguistic, and stylistic characteristics of the use of terminological lexis for representing the professional context in the novel “Airport” by A. Hailey. The cognitive mechanism of the professional context interpretation is in the reader’s reconsidering the events of the novel and understanding the behavior of characters based on learning the realities of the specific institutional environment. Detailed description of the specific nature of the institutional environment of the international airport, in which the events of the novel develop, is a characteristic feature of A. Hailey’s style of narration. The writer is always near his reader explaining carefully the realities of the professional world of the airport. The professional context is explicit. The terminological lexis of this professional sphere serves as the best explicator of the specific professional context. Thus, the verbal texture of the novel is rich in special lexis. In order to explain the complicated terms the writer and his characters use other terms, thus, expanding the lexical basis of the professional context explication. A variety of linguistic-and-stylistic means used by the author to reconstruct the professional world of the airport in the narrative includes bright comparisons, vivid epithets, exact and unexpected evaluations. The results of the analysis conducted have proven that terminological lexis is an effective tool of verbalizing the professional context in the novel “Airport” by A. Hailey. It helps the author to reconstruct the specific institutional environment of the international airport, to actualize the spacial, temporal and other factors of this complicated professional sphere. Terminological units make up the main part of the lexical basis of the professional world contextualization in the novel. In the stylistically marked context of the novel neutral terminological lexis gets stylistic coloring, which intensifies the emotional influence on the reader.
