Specifics of the use of foreign language teaching methods in police universities

Abstract

Стаття аналізує специфіку використання різних методів вивчення іноземної мови у ЗВО поліцейського спрямування. Зазначається зокрема, що для навчальних закладів поліцейського спрямування важливо обрати методи, які не лише сприяють вивченню мови, але й розвивають навички, необхідні для ефективного виконання службових обов’язків. Ось кілька методів, які можуть бути особливо корисними: комунікативний підхід, метод завдань, метод повного занурення, метод змістовно-мовного інтегрованого навчання, метод природного підходу, система розподіленого повторення, мобільне навчання. Пропонуються способи, за допомогою яких ці методи можуть бути адаптовані до специфічних потреб поліцейських навчальних закладів, забезпечуючи ефективне та практичне вивчення мови. Поєднання мобільного навчання з роботою поліцейського може бути дуже ефективним, оскільки дозволяє навчатися в будь-який час і в будь-якому місці. Подається перелік міжнародних програм обміну та навчання, в яких українські поліцейські мають можливість брати участь, що дозволяє отримати досвід роботи за кордоном та ознайомитися з передовими практиками. Окрема увага приділяється методу Каллана. Основна мета методу — навчити студентів швидко та ефективно сприймати і використовувати мову в реальних ситуаціях. Цей підхід дозволяє студентам швидко адаптуватися до нового мовного середовища і почати використовувати мову в повсякденному житті, що надзвичайно важливо у роботі поліцейського. The article analyzes the specifics of using different methods of foreign language learning in police-oriented higher education institutions. It is noted, in particular, that it is important for police educational institutions to choose methods that not only facilitate language learning, but also develop the skills necessary for the effective performance of official duties. Here are some methods that can be particularly useful: communicative approach, task-based method, full immersion method, content and language integrated learning method, natural approach method, distributed repetition system, mobile learning. The paper suggests ways in which these methods can be adapted to the specific needs of police training institutions, ensuring effective and practical language learning. Combining mobile learning with police work can be very effective, as it allows for anytime, anywhere learning. The article provides a list of international exchange and training programs that Ukrainian police officers can participate in, which allows them to gain experience abroad and learn about best practices. Special attention is paid to the Callan method. The main goal of the method is to teach students to quickly and effectively perceive and use the language in real-life situations. This approach allows students to quickly adapt to the new language environment and start using the language in everyday life, which is extremely important in the work of a police officer.
